Agfa launches mobile mammo unit in China

Agfa HealthCare has equipped a mobile screening unit in China with its mammography imaging systems.

The unit consists of an x-ray system with an Agfa computed radiography plate and a high-resolution dedicated mammography printer. It will travel around China to screen women living in remote areas, according to the Mortsel, Belgium-based vendor. It will operate under the China Ministry of Health's One Million Women Project, which aims to screen one million Chinese women for breast disease within the next two years.

In other Agfa news, the firm said it has received a RIS order from Hackensack Radiology Group (HRG) of Hackensack, NJ. Agfa will be integrating the RIS with HRG's existing Impax PACS network.
