Swedish imaging informatics and digital mammography developer Sectra reported fiscal 2005 second-quarter net sales of 144.7 million Swedish kronor ($18.7 million U.S.), a 21.3% upswing when compared with net sales of 119.3 million kronor ($14.9 million) in the same quarter last year, according to the firm.
For the period (end-October 31) the Linköping-based vendor said it had a net profit of 13.4 million kronor ($1.7 million), a downturn compared with net profits of 29.6 million kronor ($3.7 million) in the same period a year ago.
The firm attributed the decrease in profits to its expanded efforts in securing a position in long-term key markets. Sectra said it will continue to invest heavily in new marketing, sales, and support channels over the next one to two years.
