GE Healthcare has made the first U.S. installation of its Senographe Pristina mammography system with 3D digital breast tomosynthesis (DBT) capability.
Boca Raton Regional Hospital in Florida has installed the system at its Christine E. Lynn Women's Health and Wellness Institute. Senographe Pristina features a self-compression tool that patients manage with a remote control device, and a detector with rounded corners to reduce patient discomfort under the arms, according to the firm.
Senographe Pristina received premarket approval for use with DBT from the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) in March.
