Why don't more women get UFE?
As one conference finishes up, another one gets underway. The Society of Interventional Radiology (SIR) is currently meeting in Washington, DC, and we're pleased to bring you coverage of this important show.
One of the first studies to come out of SIR 2017 is research on the utilization of uterine fibroid embolization (UFE) as an alternative to hysterectomy for women with painful fibroids. Despite the advantages of UFE in terms of cost and noninvasiveness, use of the technique pales in comparison to open surgery, researchers found. Get the details by clicking here.
