Exxim of Pleasanton, CA, will show improvements for its COBRA conebeam reconstruction package for C-arm systems.
COBRA is a Windows PC-based application that can be used to reconstruct a 3D voxel image from 2D projections using the Feldkamp algorithm. A new feature, which Exxim calls local tomography, enables the user to focus on a small region of interest without applying radiation dose to the surrounding tissue, in a manner similar to intensity-modulated radiation therapy. The feature also makes it possible to use COBRA with systems that have smaller detectors, the company said.
COBRA is marketed to OEMs and is available in the U.S. and other countries.
