Calgary Scientific launches ResolutionMD 3.0

Advanced visualization software developer Calgary Scientific has launched ResolutionMD 3.0, the third-generation version of its image review and collaboration software.

The new version features enhanced support for true collaboration between physicians, allowing multiple users to share and interact with the application from multiple locations and devices. Calgary Scientific believes that this advance will lead to advanced application and data sharing in the medical field, as well as multiparty collaboration.

Users of ResolutionMD 3.0 can share patient images and documents by clicking on a link embedded in email or text, or by touching the same items on the screen of the mobile device. Any number of users can then be instantly connected in real-time from any browser-based or supported mobile device. In addition, a collaboration session can be initiated by a single instance of the software running on a server located securely at any location.

Other advancements include new layouts and multitasking features for the iOS operating system, as well as support for cloud computing and calibration. Users can select from a collection of predefined layouts to view up to four series at a time. As an option, users can also perform linked scrolling of related datasets.

With respect to multitasking, users can navigate freely between a study browser (containing detailed information about each study returned from searches) and an image viewer, taking advantage of the native multitasking capabilities of Apple mobile devices. This allows users to review images and respond to phone calls without losing their image review, according to the company.
