GE provides $3M grant to UWM

GE Healthcare has provided a $3 million grant to the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee (UWM) to provide funding for building a pipeline of medical imaging software developers and researchers.

The grant will establish the GE Healthcare Center for Advanced Computational Imaging at UWM, which will develop advanced-level educational course work in specialized software development. The grant will also provide seed funding for research and collaborative projects related to image and signal processing for medical technology, as well as continuing education (CE) opportunities for GE Healthcare technologists.

UWM's first academic offering will be a graduate-level certificate in computational imaging that will begin in fall 2013. The certificate will be offered alongside professional development curricula for GE Healthcare employees.
