3D printing technology developer Stratasys said that its technology was used to help develop treatment for a woman with a complex brain aneurysm at the Jacobs Institute in Buffalo, NY.
Collaborating with Stratasys, the Jacobs Institute worked with physicians at Kaleida Health's Gates Vascular Institute and biomedical engineers at the University of Buffalo to develop a new approach for repairing a complex brain aneurysm, according to the company. A CT image of the aneurysm was used to generate a 3D-printed replica of the patient's entire brain vessel anatomy, which enabled physicians to develop a more optimal means of treatment, said Jacobs Institute Chief Medical Officer Dr. Adnan Siddiqui in a statement.
