Advanced visualization software developer Ziosoft of Redwood City, CA, has received U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) clearance for two new cardiac analysis software applications, one for calcium scoring and the other for cardiac function analysis.
The calcium scoring application can be used by physicians to help determine whether a patient may be at increased risk for coronary artery disease. It features tools such as concurrent reading of calcium analysis adjacent to the original dataset, which allows for efficient and precise analysis of data, according to the company.
The cardiac function application enables physicians to conduct a cardiac functional assessment and includes tools such as automatic left ventricle segmentation, peak filling rate, and peak ejection rate, in addition to the standard functional assessment calculations. The cardiac function application also includes the capability to automatically generate bull's-eye maps and a time-volume graph to aid in physician evaluation.
