Clinical trial imaging services provider VirtualScopics and brain health firm IXICO are forming a scientific advisory board.
VirtualScopics' chief scientific officer, Edward Ashton, PhD, will chair the board, which will initially have seven members and will benefit both VirtualScopics and IXICO, according to the firms. The board will meet quarterly and focus on early- and late-phase oncology, cardiology, metabolic disorders, and neurology.
In addition to Ashton, the other founding board members are as follows:
- Derek Hill, PhD, IXICO CEO
- Jonathan Riek, PhD, VirtualScopics chief technical officer
- Jeffrey Evelhoch, PhD, vice president and global head of imaging in early-stage development at Merck Research Laboratories
- Dr. Dirk Reitsma, vice president of global product development and therapeutic area head of oncology at PPD
- Dr. Claude Sirlin, professor of radiology and chief of body imaging at the University of California, San Diego
- Dr. Karl Schwarz, director of the echocardiography laboratory at the University of Rochester
