Metal artifact reduction algorithms vary by vendor

In this Thursday morning session, Dutch researchers will share results from performance testing of various CT metal artifact reduction methods.

CT vendors have recently begun offering metal artifact reduction techniques to deal with these artifacts, which occur in the presence of strongly attenuating materials, said senior author and presenter Marcel Greuter, PhD, from University Medical Center Groningen.

As a result, the group sought to compare several methods from several vendors, both with each other and with the freely available Metal Deletion Technique software. Which approach performed the best? Attend the talk to get all the details.
