Advanced visualization software developer Vital Images has licensed the zero-footprint patent portfolio of image management firm Heart Imaging Technologies (HeartIT).

HeartIT's patents cover the use of zero-footprint technologies to provide access to diagnostic-quality images in a standard Internet Web browser, according to HeartIT.
