Graphics processing unit technology developer NVIDIA has presented the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, MN, with a $50,000 Global Impact Award for its research using artificial intelligence (AI) to detect brain tumor mutations early on MRI scans.
Dr. Bradley Erickson, PhD, received the award at this week's NVIDIA GPU Technology Conference (GTC) in San Jose, CA. He is developing a GPU-accelerated deep-learning technique to predict brain tumor genomics, which can help forecast how fast a tumor will progress and how it will respond to certain treatments, according to NVIDIA.
