PACS Integration Module to take center stage at RSNA.
Healthcare informatics developer Misys Healthcare Systems will present its PACS Integration Module (PIM) to attendees of the 2003 RSNA conference.
The Misys PIM is a fully integrated Misys Radiology-PACS solution, providing DICOM services that eliminate the need for a broker between Misys Radiology RIS and any PACS vendor, according to the Tucson-based developer. The application enables bi-directional transfer of information between the RIS, modality, and the PACS via HL7 and DICOM.
In addition, the Misys PIM transmits not only patient demographic and scheduling data and procedure protocols to the modalities and PACS, it also allows the modalities and PACS to transmit relevant data back to the PIM. This information can then be entered into or used to update data fields in the RIS.
The product, which supports DICOM, IHE guidelines, and HL7, is scheduled to be available worldwide in March 2004, said Misys.
