Diagnostic imaging software developer ComMedica will bring its RIS/PACS product, as well as two new applications, to the RSNA show from its home base of Woking, U.K.
ComMedica's RIS/PACS product, which combines its PACS technology with CRIS technology from Nottinghamshire, U.K.-based Healthcare Software Systems, will be demonstrated to attendees. The vendor will showcase its improved HL7 connectors, which support a RIS and multiple PACS.
In addition, ComMedica will also launch its new Non-Radiology Access (NRA) application, which provides full-fidelity images, as well as access to reports and patient records, over a standard Web browser to any clinician outside of the radiology department.
The healthcare IT company will also debut its Orthopedic workstation, which combines its Image Viewer PACS workstation software with Southampton, U.K.-based Meridian Techniques' latest release, OrthoView V3. The workstation provides a set of planning wizards to support the orthopedic planning process, and has the capability to scale images for greater accuracy. It also includes a library of digital templates from all major orthopedic implant manufacturers, and a comprehensive report for clinical audit.
The products are available now internationally, and are pending clearance from the FDA, which is expected in 2006, according to ComMedica.
