Crescendo Systems

MD Center-XL with Speech Processing, a new product from Crescendo Systems of Laval, Quebec, will be unveiled this month in Chicago.

Authors can now dictate, review, and correct recognized text returned from the speech recognition server, perform synchronized playback, and sign off on dictations and reports from a single application, according to the firm.

The software, which is available now in the U.S., U.K., and Australia, allows corrections to be made to recognized text, rather than to transcribed text, Crescendo said. It allows dictation from a multitude of input devices such as handheld digital recorders, telephones, pocket PC-based devices, and PC microphones.

MD Center-XL with Speech Processing can automatically send copy to the adaptation server for improvement in the recognition rate, return a report to a transcriptionist (via routing defined by the author) in case major rework is required, and perform synchronized playback and job sign-off (dictation and report), Crescendo said.

Crescendo's speech recognition software is powered by SpeechMagic recognition technology from Philips Speech Processing of Vienna, Austria.
