At RSNA 2005, InStar Systems will unveil two new products, RIS NET and Practice Scheduler, and will offer fully functional trial versions of Practice Scheduler to attendees.
RIS NET incorporates several enhanced capabilities, including drag-and-drop patient scheduling, registration, order entry, pending appointments tracking, outside read tracking, preauthorization, exam tracking, mammography tracking, charge capture, billing, film tracking, transcription/report production, electronic signature, report distribution, and management reporting.
The product is built on Microsoft's .NET and SQL platforms, and will be available worldwide on December 15, the Colorado Springs, CO, company said.
InStar Practice Scheduler is an off-the-shelf product built on the .NET platform. The application features drag-and-drop patient scheduling, registration, order entry, pending appointments tracking, preauthorization, and capture of preliminary billing information.
The firm said that Practice Scheduler does not require extensive IT infrastructure, servers, or database software. It is targeted toward small outpatient practices, practices seeking only scheduling and electronic medical record (EMR) functionality, and practices that are not yet ready for a full-featured RIS.
The product will be available worldwide on the first day of the 2005 RSNA conference, the company said.
