Emdeon president Tony Holcombe has resigned to pursue another business opportunity, effective December 2. Holcombe was also president of Emdeon's business services segment.
Until a successor is named, Emdeon's business services segment will report to Emdeon CEO Kevin Cameron, according to the Elmwood Park, NJ-based vendor. Despite ongoing health problems, Cameron said he is confident he can assume additional responsibilities until a successor for Holcomb is appointed.
Cameron said that in the future, it may become necessary for him to spend more time addressing his health needs, and that he may have to serve in a different senior executive role that would not require active day-to-day operations oversight.
In financial developments, Emdeon said that while its guidance for the fourth quarter of 2005 remains unchanged, it now expects revenue and earnings for 2006 may be toward the lower end of the ranges provided at the end of the third quarter. This estimated shortfall is attributed to anticipated weakness in its business services segment, Emdeon said.
