Healthcare informatics firm Eclipsys of Boca Raton, FL, said it will showcase the latest iteration of its Sunrise RIS product, version 5.4, at next week's RSNA conference in Chicago.
The enterprise-class Web-based application supports paperless workflow, including document generation, document management, scanner support, and the capability to markup diagrams and capture key images, according to the firm. All components of version 5.4, including speech recognition, are Web-based, providing users the capability to work from any location, the company said.
The latest release features a new diagnostic review module with customizable interface, supports both Microsoft Windows-based and Web-based DICOM viewers from other vendors, offers a choice between integrated speech recognition and MP3-based digital dictation as well as structured reporting, and provides the capability to annotate diagrams and key images and include them within a diagnostic report. Amongst the new features are full support for resident/radiologist workflow, teaching archives, and batch printing.
Sunrise RIS 5.4 also includes new versions of its transcription and proofreading modules, as well as improvements to the scheduling and arrival modules and the technologist toolset.
Sunrise RIS is sold as a standalone RIS or along with Sunrise PACS, as well as an integrated part of a complete clinical suite from Eclipsys.
