Network application developer Novell reported that it has signed a 21.8 million U.K. pound ($37.8 million U.S.) deal with the U.K. National Health Service (NHS).
The Waltham, MA-based firm said that the three-year agreement calls for it to deliver network security, management, and infrastructure products as part of the NHS national program of healthcare IT.
The new IT infrastructure and systems will ultimately connect more than 100,000 doctors, 380,000 nurses, and 50,000 other healthcare professionals, benefiting more than 50 million patients in England, the company said.
