Ximis releases new RIS version

Healthcare IT firm Ximis of El Paso, TX, has released version 6.0 of its Xiris radiology information system software.

Xiris 6.0 Enterprise was launched at last week's RSNA meeting in Chicago and includes a number of enhancements, according to the company. Time Matrix is a new feature that enables facilities to track exams graphically, showing such metrics as the time spent in each process of the patient's exam and the time remaining for report distribution.

The company's Xiris Enterprise Teleradiology application has been enhanced with features that improve information management and enable better control of exams. Users can assign studies to radiologists based on rules created for each radiologist, such as working quota, staff schedules, and facility preferences. Medical directors can also view all cases that have gone through a first and second reading by displaying both at the same time and highlighting the differences for comparison purposes.

Other features have been added to MyXiris, which allows patients to do their own exam scheduling and demographic information updating; MyXiris Self Registration, which lets patients register themselves at kiosks on arriving at the imaging facility; MammoTrack, a mammography tracking facility; and DigiForms, which helps facilities convert forms into digital formats.
