Biometric fingerprint scanning firm SmartMetric announced that it will release MedicalKeyring, a small device that stores radiology images and electronic medical records (EMRs), to the U.S. consumer market.
The device, which uses submicro technology electronics, is designed to be affixed to a key ring and is activated using built-in biometric fingerprint technology. It connects to the USB plug of a computer.
MedicalKeyring will have the ability to store a patient's entire medical record, including mammograms and other types of medical images.
