Health IT firm Dicom Systems has unveiled Load Balancer, a new software application designed to optimize DICOM image traffic.
Available as a standalone module or as part of the company's Enterprise Imaging Unifier interface engine, Load Balancer supports full configuration and management capabilities for DICOM image caching, compression, application delivery, and scalability, according to the vendor. It includes prebuilt templates for deployment in enterprise imaging environments and provides health checks on current application and server performance, Dicom Systems said.
The company said it will showcase Load Balancer at the Society for Imaging Informatics in Medicine (SIIM) annual meeting being held May 31 through June 2 in National Harbor, MD. In addition, the software has already been installed at Desert Radiology, an imaging practice that operates eight outpatient locations and serves 12 hospitals in southern Nevada.
