The American College of Radiology's (ACR) Center for Research and Innovation (CRI) plans to develop a registry for COVID-19 imaging research.
The effort is a collaboration between the ACR CRI, the ACR's Data Science Institute, and the Society of Thoracic Radiology. Dr. Sharyn Katz of the University of Pennsylvania in Philadelphia will chair the registry's steering committee.
Participating sites will contribute demographic information, clinical data on COVID-19 signs and symptoms, imaging exams, laboratory test results, and outcomes for patients tested for the disease, the ACR said. It has been developed to link to other COVID-19 registries and datasets, according to the college.
The ACR is taking steps to allow clinicians to earn Merit-based Incentive Payment System (MIPS) credit when they contribute to this registry. Data collection will start in July; those interested in participating can find information on ACR's website.
