The PACS Administrators in Radiology Certification Association (PARCA) has been launched.
PARCA will develop criteria for the skills needed for PACS administrators, and provide certification for those who meet the requirements, according to the Aubrey, TX-based association. The independent organization said it will seek direction regarding certification requirements, the certification process, curriculum, and examinations from an advisory board of vendors, users, and academics.
PARCA will offer three types of certification: PACS interface analyst, PACS system analyst, and PACS system manager. Certification exams can be taken online. For more information, visit PARCA's Web site.
