New PACS data migration firm formed

PACS veterans Fred Behlen, Ph.D., and Jim Maughan have teamed up to launch Migratek, a new PACS data migration company.

The firm has introduced dicomBlast, a data migration appliance that consists of computer hardware and Migratek-developed software that's customized for each migration job. The appliance can be configured to extract image data from legacy archives at transfer rates exceeding 1 terabyte per day, according to Migratek of Chicago and Houston.
