PACS developers Fujifilm Medical Systems USA and Heartlab have made the first installation of an image management network that combines products from both companies.
New Hanover Regional Medical Center of Wilmington, NC, installed Heartlab's Encompass cardiology PACS at its Coastal Heart Center. At the same time, the facility installed a Synapse general radiology PACS from Fuji.
Coastal Heart Center is the first facility to take advantage of an alliance between Heartlab and Fuji that enables shared access to both radiology and cardiology data. The center, which more than 7,000 cardiac catheterization studies annually, is converting more than 23,000 cath studies from its previous cardiology archiving system.
