Recordable media firm Maxell of Fair Lawn, NJ, is launching a new line of DVD-R media designed specifically for medical applications.
The company's Maxell Medical DVD-R product line uses the company's Maxpro hardcoat technology to provide up to twice the archival shelf life of conventional DVD-R disks. Maxell said the Medical DVD-R disks are more resistant to scratching, dust, and light than conventional DVD disks, and are also smudge- and fingerprint-repellant.
The disks will have a storage capacity of 4.7 GB and a write speed of 8X, according to the company. They will be available in March.
