Dear PACS Insider,
Think radiology PACS is hard? Well, cardiology PACS networks have their own set of demanding requirements, including the need to accommodate a dynamic workflow and manage large, moving images.
It takes patience, open communication skills, and a thick skin to succeed as a cardiology PACS administrator, according to Jonathan Pavlicek, a regional cardiology systems project manager with Banner Health Systems in Phoenix. A solid knowledge base in IT, as well as cardiology and business workflow, is also crucial.
Pavlicek spoke at PACS 2005: The Expanding Integrated Digital Healthcare Enterprise, a March conference in San Antonio sponsored by the University of Rochester School of Medicine & Dentistry in Rochester, NY.
