PACS technology provider Neurostar Solutions of Atlanta unveiled a number of enhancements to its Virtual Radiology Network PACS software at last week's Society for Computer Applications in Radiology (SCAR) meeting.
The company added support for wireless networks, enabling mobile users to connect to Neurostar's centralized VRN servers to enjoy full functionality and fast image communication, whether uploading or downloading data, according to the company.
Neurostar also introduced Intelligent Virtual Workflow, a new suite of advanced features including fast onsite image access, enhanced system reliability, and redundant emergency backup. Intelligent Virtual Workflow uses integrated local image caching onsite in addition to remote image storage on Neurostar's offsite central VRN hardware.
Neurostar also demonstrated advanced functionality for the VRN Web-based reading station and automatic Internet-based VRN software updates. Other new enhancements include remote software monitoring and orthopedic templating capabilities.
