Mercury Computer Systems of Chelmsford, MA, has inked a deal to purchase German PACS software developer SoHard.
If completed, the acquisition would broaden Mercury's OEM portfolio to include image distribution and archive software, said Mercury president and CEO Jay Bertelli. Mercury will pay approximately 19 million euros ($23.4 million U.S.) for the Fuerth, Germany-based vendor.
SoHard said generates revenue of approximately $10 million per year, and the company is modestly profitable, Mercury said. The acquisition, which is subject to certain closing conditions, is expected to close in the third quarter of 2005.
