Imaging informatics firm Viztek of Garner, NC, has inked a contract with an orthopedic center in Florida.
Kennedy-White Orthopaedic Center of Sarasota transitioned from analog to digital by installing two of Viztek's U-arm digital radiography systems as well as its Opal-Ortho PACS. Previously, the center had four analog radiology rooms; with the installation, it now is using two digital rooms, Viztek said.
A big factor in the facility's conversion to digital was issues with patients who brought in radiology exams on CDs, according to Viztek. Opal-Ortho PACS software can open images from a CD directly in the Opal viewer, regardless of where the CD was created, the company said.
