Radiology informatics firm Aycan Medical Systems will unveil a new vendor-neutral archive (VNA) and software for patient health management next week at RSNA 2017 in Chicago.
Designed for hospitals and imaging centers that have disparate PACS, Aycan Universal Archive enables users to be more efficient at managing and sharing images and other data, according to the vendor. It provides enterprise and cross-departmental storage of both DICOM and non-DICOM images and features an open platform to facilitate the use of best-of-breed technologies, Aycan said. In addition to integrating with RIS, electronic medical record, and other patient management systems, Universal Archive includes retention controls, compression, and a zero-footprint web portal.
The company said it will also showcase its Smartvisit patient health management software that collects and securely transmits patient data to care networks using Apple iOS devices. The data can be automatically captured by wearable medical devices or manually entered by patients; physicians can then review the shared data via the Smartvisit dashboard, Aycan said.
