X-ray technology developer Turner Imaging Systems has received 510(k) clearance from the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) for its portable Smart-C mini C-arm for fluoroscopy and x-ray.
The patent-pending Smart-C mini C-arm weighs only 16 lb, so it can be hand-carried to the point of care with no need for special transport equipment.
The company plans initially to market the device in the U.S. before worldwide.
