The American College of Radiology (ACR) has announced the winners of the 2023 Fund for Collaborative Research in Imaging (FCRI) grants.
The grants fund innovative research that advances the practice of radiology. This year's recipients are Amir Iravani, MD, and Delphine Chen, MD, both of the University of Washington in Seattle, and Elizabeth Sadowski, MD, of the University of Wisconsin Madison and collaborator Caroline Reinhold, MD, of McGill University in Montreal.
The University of Washington research team will study prostate-specific membrane antigen theranostic and molecular imaging biomarkers. The preliminary thresholds and criteria developed in this study in collaboration with the ACR will be applied in a multicenter repository database for external validation and potential use in clinical practice and trials.
Sadowski and Reinhold will create an Ovarian Reporting and Data System (O-RADS) research repository. The overall goal of the registry is to provide a large cohort of curated cases with clinical data that can be used by multiple investigators for future studies aimed at assessing diagnostic accuracy, clinical outcomes, healthcare disparities, population health, and studies involving AI and machine learning, the ACR said.
