RSNA has named Dr. Matthew Mauro as the newest member of its board of directors.
Mauro will serve as board liaison for information technology and the annual meeting, as Dr. Vijay Rao has become chair. A vascular interventional radiologist, Mauro is chairman of the department of radiology at the University of North Carolina (UNC) at Chapel Hill School of Medicine. A UNC faculty member since 1982, Mauro also holds the Ernest H. Wood Distinguished Professorship at the institution.
In addition, Mauro is a past president of the Society of Interventional Radiology (SIR) and chairman of the SIR Foundation. He has also served on the board of chancellors of the American College of Radiology and is currently a member of the American Board of Radiology's board of governors, according to RSNA.
