The coronavirus outbreak has prompted the American Roentgen Ray Society (ARRS) to cancel the 2020 edition of its annual meeting, which had been scheduled for May 3-8 in Chicago.
In a March 16 announcement, the ARRS said that in light of government guidance against large gatherings and travel bans at hospitals, the group had decided to cancel both the in-person and virtual versions of the meeting.
The ARRS said that registrants for both the in-person and virtual meetings would be given full refunds of their 2020 registration fees. The fees can also be transferred to the 2021 ARRS conference in San Diego in April 2021 by notifying the society by March 23.
Other radiology meetings that have been canceled or postponed due to the coronavirus outbreak include the Society of Interventional Radiology, European Congress of Radiology, the Healthcare Information and Management Systems Society, the International Society for Magnetic Resonance in Medicine, the Society of Interventional Radiology, and the American College of Cardiology.
