The RSNA is taking steps to ensure that its annual meeting can be held in person again for the first time since 2019. New developments at the upcoming meeting include free daycare for attendees with children.
The RSNA announced on May 17 that 10,378 scientific and educational abstracts were submitted for the 2021 annual meeting, scheduled to be held in Chicago from November 28 to December 2. The number represents a nearly 6% drop in submissions from last year's 11,039.
Because the meeting will once again be in person, the society said it is actively working with the city of Chicago and McCormick Place to implement public health protocols and best practices to provide the safest meeting possible. However, the RSNA will also offer a virtual component for those who are affected by institutional, corporate, or national travel restrictions with 100% of eligible meeting content available online.
Other changes to the conference include Camp RSNA, the meeting's onsite daycare. For the first time, the daycare will be offered at no cost to members.
