GE acquires Access Medical

GE Medical Systems has announced the acquisition of equipment refurbisher Access Medical Equipment Group of Farmingdale, NY. For GE, the deal is another boost to its Gold Seal used equipment program, which re-markets both GE and non-GE diagnostic imaging equipment worldwide.

With the addition of Access Medical, GE will be able to offer pre-owned ultrasound, MRI, CT, nuclear medicine, mammography, and x-ray equipment from a multitude of original equipment manufacturers, according to the Waukesha, WI-based firm. Founded in 1988, Access Medical has purchased, refurbished, sold, and installed more than 10,000 diagnostic imaging systems at healthcare facilities worldwide.
