Imaging software developer Mirada Medical has announced a series of installations around the world for its DLCExpert autocontouring software for cancer treatment planning.
DLCExpert has been installed at Northwestern Hospital in Chicago and City of Hope National Medical Center in Duarte, CA, in the U.S. and at CHU Liège in Belgium and Royal Surrey National Health Service Trust in the U.K.
Mirada believes that the software-generated contours provided by DLCExpert can reduce contouring times during radiation therapy while reinforcing compliance with clinical standards. The company points to a recently published study indicating that autocontouring can reduce the amount of time necessary for contouring by 77% for some organs.
