SonoSite shows strong Q4, cuts losses

Compact-ultrasound developer SonoSite reported fourth-quarter revenues of $27.3 million, up 9% compared with $25.1 million in the same period last year. For the quarter (end-December 31), the Bothell, WA-based vendor had a net profit of $2.2 million, compared with a net loss of $869,000 in the fourth quarter a year ago.

For the year, SonoSite reported revenues of $84.8 million, up 16% compared with $73 million in 2002. The company’s net loss for the year continued to shrink, with a net loss of $1.8 million, compared with a net loss of $7.7 million in 2002.
