MaxxVision will feature its low-cost alternative to full-field digital mammography (FFDM) systems: iView Feature Finder, a palm-sized digital wand that can be used with screen-film images mounted on a lightbox.
The FDA-cleared device is held against an area of interest on a mammography film to digitally enhance images in real-time with a resolution of 1024 x 768 pixels and a frame rate of 15 frames per second. Designed for low-volume mammography clinics, iView costs about $14,000, according to the Gainesville, FL-based company.
