Koning Health has secured a medical device license from Health Canada for its Vera Breast CT system, clearing the way for commercial introduction of the technology in Canada.
The dedicated breast imaging system uses cone-beam CT to generate 3D volumetric images of breast tissue without breast compression, allowing clinicians to examine the breast from multiple angles, Koning said. Availability for patients will depend on implementation timelines at individual imaging centers and hospital systems, according to the company.
The license follows Koning’s recent registration of the system in Australia.
