Imaging artificial intelligence (AI) technology developer Enlitic, in collaboration with Konica Minolta and Marubeni, has received approval from Japanese regulators for its AI software for analyzing chest x-rays.
Enlitic is the first U.S. imaging AI company to receive regulatory approval to commercialize in Japan, according to the firm. Its CXR-AI software detects major abnormal findings such as lung nodules and consolidation in chest x-ray images, and these abnormalities are shown as a simple mark.
Konica Minolta's PACS and AI gateway systems will deploy CXR-AI so that it's distributed across hospitals, clinics, and other medical institutions in Japan. Marubeni will also facilitate the commercialization of CXR-AI through other channels in Japan.
