The Cedara Software unit of Merge Healthcare has released new software for viewing and processing PET/CT images.
The software supports applications such as study loading for automatic series display, customized layouts for different users, simultaneous navigation through different image sets, and automatic rotating maximum intensity projection (MIP) display, according to Cedara. In addition, the software calculates standard uptake values (SUV) and Hounsfield units for PET, CT, and PET/CT fused images.
The software was first shown as a work-in-progress at the 2004 RSNA conference, according to the Mississauga, Ontario-based firm. The software will be offered to Cedara's OEM partners as a plug-in application and to healthcare professionals as a workstation that can be integrated with existing RIS/PACS software.
