Siemens Medical Solutions reported that it has installed the first U.S. Somatom Emotion 16-slice CT system at Ohio State University Medical Center University Hospital East in Columbus, OH.
Somatom Emotion 16 is an air-cooled system that combines a gantry rotation speed of up to 0.5 seconds with 16-slice scanning at 0.6-mm slice widths. It also features a minimal space requirement of less than 200 square feet, according to the Malvern, PA-based Siemens.
