Agfa to highlight software, DR upgrades at ECR

Agfa HealthCare will be showcasing enhancements and upgrades to its software and digital radiography (DR) systems at next month's ECR 2016 in Vienna.

The company will highlight its clinical portal, which offers a patient-centric overview of patient information compiled from different sources available inside or outside the hospital. In addition, Agfa plans to show off its Enterprise Imaging for Radiology platform, including new features the company believes would be of particular interest to academic hospitals. The software can now support teaching files, multidisciplinary team meetings, and resident/supervisor task-based workflow, according to the vendor.

In Europe, the package now also includes Qaelum's tqm|Dose platform for patient radiation dose monitoring. The dose monitoring software is not yet available in the U.S. or Canada.

In DR developments, Agfa will be spotlighting its DX-D 100+ with FreeView, the company's collapsible telescopic arm that can be easily moved from one location to another. DX-D 100+ can be used in intensive care units, emergency departments, operating rooms, or at the patient's bedside.

Finally, the company will introduce upgrades to its Musica image processing package: Agfa has eliminated the need to adjust window levels and added a tool that allows for balanced presentation of different tissue structures for more comfortable reading, the company said.
