Cardinal secures brain PET software distribution

ORLANDO, FL - Healthcare products giant Cardinal Health has entered into an agreement for exclusive distribution rights within the radiopharmaceutical industry for imaging software developer Syntermed's NeuroQ brain PET software platform.

The application, developed in conjunction with Dr. Daniel Silverman of the University of California, Los Angeles, provides automated quantification of more than 240 standardized regions of interest, and compares the activity of brain regions in an individual PET scan to a PET database of regional activity scans.

Cardinal Health said it plans to offer the product as an education and marketing tool in the referring physician community to improve physician confidence in the differential diagnosis of Alzheimer's disease.
