Siemens Medical Solutions will introduce its SPECT-only offering, Symbia S, this week at the Society of Nuclear Medicine (SNM) meeting in Toronto.
Symbia S, part of the TruePoint SPECT/CT line, serves a broad range of applications, including general nuclear medicine, oncology, cardiology, and neurology studies, according to the Malvern, PA-based vendor. The system also features high-definition dynamic digital detector and flash 3D technology.
Built on a single, integrated platform, Symbia S can be upgraded to become a TruePoint SPECT/CT system.
In other Siemens news from the SNM show, the company has added an attenuation correction module to its c.cam dedicated cardiac gamma camera. Shown as a work-in-progress, c.clear uses a transmission line source to correct for attenuation artifacts that can occur during cardiac studies, such as from patient anatomy. Software then removes artifacts without sacrificing image quality, according to the company.
