Molecular imaging system developer Gamma Medica of Northridge, CA, has licensed pinhole image reconstruction technology from Johns Hopkins University in Baltimore.
The 3D image reconstruction method allows for processing of high-resolution pinhole SPECT images, and can also be applied to high-resolution CT imaging in preclinical studies, the company said.
The reconstruction method was developed by Dr. Benjamin Tsui and Dr. Yuchuan Wang of the Johns Hopkins School of Medicine, where Tsui is a professor of radiology and electrical and computer engineering, and Wang is a research fellow.
